Vanilla Spiced Pear Butter

7-8lbs pears – any variety will do!
1C Brown Sugar
1tsp Nutmeg
1tsp Cardamom
2tsp Vanilla
2-3 Cinnamon Sticks
1tsp zest + Juice of 1 Lemon
1tsp zest + Juice of 1 Orange
1/4-1/2C Water
1″ fresh ginger sliced into rounds
Directions
- Peel & core pears.
- Place in slow cooker.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Cook on high 4-6 hours or low 6-8 hours.
- Allow to cool for 1 hour.
- Remove cinnamon sticks.
- Using an immersion blender or food processor, blend until smooth.
